The Solutions Strategy Unit of CAR was established in 1987. It is a well-established unit with dedicated staff. The Repatriation Cell is working in close coordination with all the relevant stakeholders to facilitate the smooth voluntary repatriation of Afghan Refugees from KP. The Cell is regularly carrying out monitoring visits, conducting comprehensive awareness raising campaigns and providing services to Afghan Refugees in all the 43 camps throughout KP.
Meetings with different stakeholders and line departments both at provincial and federal level are regularly arranged and reports are share with all concerned. Furthermore, the Repatriation Cell is also conducting regular patrolling from Attock (Khairabad) to Torkham Border during the voluntary return of Afghan Refugees en route to the border. Currently the Repatriation Cell has 88 staff member working throughout Khyber Pakthunkwha (KP). Below is the organogram of the Solutions Strategy Unit.

The Voluntary Repatriation Center (VRC) Peshawar is located in Gul Abad, Chamkani on main Grand Trunk (GT) road and remains open from Sunday to Thursday 08:00 to 3:30pm. The voluntary repatriation of registered Afghan Refugees are daily processed though this VRC.
